The 'Bronde' hair trend is taking over - here's why everyone's talking about it

It’s exactly what it sounds like.

FORGET OMBRE AND balayage.

It’s all about bronde now.

What is bronde, you ask? It’s a term used to describe that halfway point between blonde and brown, and it’s all the rage now.

It’s been around a few months now. Here’s Jennifer Lopez in an ad for L’Oreal UK & Ireland declaring her allegiance to the band of brondes.

But now it’s taking over.

Just yesterday, Blake Lively posted a photo of herself sitting and chilling in the middle of a dodgy looking bridge. (As you do.)

The actress captioned the photo: “Brondes have more fun #NoTypos-IKnowIThinkItsCrazyToo”.

Other stars who are considered bronde ambassadors include Sarah Jessica Parker, Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Lawrence.

But as popular as it may be, there has been some backlash.

Many were struck by what a terrible word “bronde” is.

While others pointed out that it’s not exactly a new concept…

That hasn’t stopped magazines from proclaiming it to be the must-have hair trend for the summer, though.

And salons are certainly jumping on board.

So, can we expect bronde to take over in Ireland?

According to the Boots website, home dye kits are currently available for purchase here.

Long live brondes, we guess?
